Our craftsmanship: the art of the word clock, shaped in France
At Aurachronis, every word clock is born in our workshop in Pusignan, in the Rhône. Neither mass-produced nor assembled on a line: it is designed, cut, veneered and calibrated by hand, piece by piece. It is this artisanal gesture — slow, precise, demanding — that turns a simple panel into an object that writes time in light.

A luminous object, a precious object
A word clock does not show the time: it tells it. At every moment, the right letters light up to form a sentence — “it is twenty past two” — while the rest of the panel stays in shadow.
To achieve this clean, silent reading, every detail counts: the precision of the letter cutting, the even diffusion of the light, the balance of contrasts. Nothing is left to chance.
The choice of woods
Four woods dress the finish of our clocks, veneered in real wood, each chosen for its natural beauty and its warm touch:
- Aube Érable (maple) — a soft, luminous clarity, ideal for a pared-back interior.
- Zénith Chêne (oak) — a sunlit, contemporary shade, warm without being dark.
- Crépuscule Palissandre (rosewood) — a dense, nuanced wood that evokes amber end-of-day light.
- Minuit Ébène (ebony) — a deep, mysterious contrast where every word becomes a star.
Excellence in the service of your interior
From the first outline to the final check, an Aurachronis clock passes through our hands at every stage:
- Selection of the panel and inspection of the finish.
- Precision cutting of the letters, designed for an even diffusion of light.
- Veneering in fine woods and premium surface finishing.
- Integration of the LED lighting and the connected electronics.
- Calibration and testing of each unit — brightness and app — before dispatch.
Each clock takes about one week to make in the workshop. And because no two are quite alike, every Aurachronis is numbered.

The designer: Olivier Haro
Aurachronis was born from the vision ofOlivier Haro, founder and designer of the brand. His starting point: the idea that an everyday object can be useful, beautiful and meaningful all at once — and that there is no reason to set woodcraft against technology. From that conviction came a clock that does not merely give the time, but brings it to light.
“I didn't want to design one more clock. I wanted an object that tells time, and that has a presence in a room.” — Olivier Haro
It is this demand — that of a person who answers for every piece — that sets an Aurachronis clock apart from a mass-produced object.
