At a time when most decorative objects are mass-produced on the other side of the world, we made a different choice: to make our word clocks by hand, in France, in our workshop in Pusignan. Here is why that changes everything — for the object, and for you.
Mastering every stage
Making locally means keeping a hand on the whole process: the finish, the cutting of the letters, the veneering, the integration of the electronics, the final adjustment. Every clock passes through our hands at each stage, and each one is adjusted and tested individually before leaving the workshop.
The time it takes, not the time imposed
An Aurachronis clock is not produced on a line: making one takes about a week in the workshop. That time is the time of precision — what separates a carefully made object from a hurried product.
A unique piece, and a numbered one
Because no clock is quite like another, every Aurachronis is numbered. That number is no detail: it is the trace of an identified piece, made one at a time, for which we answer.
Craftsmanship embodied by a person
Behind Aurachronis there is a name and a face: Olivier Haro, designer and founder. It is this personal involvement that sets a craft object apart from an industrial product: someone answers for it. « I wanted an object that tells of time, and that has a presence in a room », he sums up.
What « Made in France » actually brings you
- Traceability: you know who makes your clock, and where.
- Service: a real person to talk to, a 2-year guarantee honoured in France.
- Durability: an object designed to last and to be handed down, not to be replaced.
- Meaning: supporting local craftsmanship.
A piece to be handed down
A numbered clock, made by hand, telling the time in light: this is not an object you replace as fashions change. It is a piece you keep, and hand on — with its number, its history, and the light it brings to a room.
